Five vehicles have been confiscated in Dubai after their drivers were caught performing stunts and causing disturbances.

The cars were seized in Nad Al Sheba and Al Meydan Street areas.

Dubai Police said the reckless drivers not only caused a nuisance but also endangered the lives of other road users.

In addition to getting their vehicles impounded, the offenders face fines of up to AED 50,000.

Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, urged the youth to commit to driving safely and also called on parents to closely monitor their children's behaviour.

He added that members of the public can report traffic violations and reckless behaviours through the "Police Eye" service on the Dubai Police app or through the toll-free number 901.
