A female fighter pilot from the UAE Air Force has received the prestigious Asia Game Changer Award. Mariam Al Mansouri, an F-16 fighter pilot, received the accolade at the Asia Society's event at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. Al Mansouri was one of nine honourees and was cited as a role model for women throughout the Arab world for battling stereotypes - and terror - from the air. Al Mansouri served in the army in other capacities before starting in-flight training.
