Emirates has suspended all flights to and from Dubai until further notice, the airline said on Saturday.

It's after operations at Dubai International Airport (DXB) were temporarily suspended for safety reasons. Officials say the situation is being managed in accordance with established safety procedures.

In an update issued on Emirates Airline's website and social media, the carrier advised passengers not to travel to the airport while operations remain halted. It said it would provide further updates as soon as more information becomes available.

The airline said the decision was taken with passenger and crew safety as the top priority.

Emirates has also updated their temporary travel options for customers booked to fly between February 28 and March 31.

Passengers may choose to rebook on an alternative flight to the same destination for travel on or before 30 April, or request a full refund of their ticket. Customers who booked through a travel agent have been advised to contact them directly, while those who booked with Emirates can contact the airline or apply for a refund online.

The airline urged passengers to ensure their contact details are up to date through the “Manage Your Booking” service so they can receive the latest updates.

Emirates also confirmed that all city check-in points across Dubai have been temporarily closed until further notice.
