Two outlets in Dubai have been shut for flouting COVID-19 health and safety protocols as authorities step up inspections to curb the spread of coronavirus.

A shisha cafe in Oud Metha and a salon in Naif were asked to close down due to overcrowding.

Another 15 outlets were issued warnings and eight more fined during Dubai Municipality's latest checks that covered more than 2,200 premises.
