Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has praised heavy vehicle operators for complying with standards to reduce carbon emissions.

A compliance rate of around 98 per cent was reported during recent inspections carried out in cooperation with Dubai Police and Emirates Transport.

The week-long campaign focused on the importance of reducing emissions from heavy vehicle exhausts.

Essa Al Amiri, Director of Licensing Activities Monitoring at the RTA's Licensing Agency, praised the efforts of companies that own heavy vehicles, including freight transport trucks.

He said that the high rate of adherence to regulations reflects the awareness and commitment of these companies.
