Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority has set a new record after its latest distinctive vehicle number plate auction generated more than AED109 million in revenue, the highest total since the auctions were introduced.

The 120th open auction, held on December 27, saw strong demand for premium plates.

BB12 was the top seller, fetching AED9.66 million, followed by AA25 at just over AED8 million. Other high-value plates included BB30, sold for AED6.74 million, and CC100, which reached AED4.21 million.

In total, 90 distinctive plates featuring two to five-digit numbers were offered across multiple letter codes.

The RTA said the results reflect continued interest in exclusive number plates and the success of its transparent auction system, which offers equal access to bidders.

The auction took place in Dubai with participation available both in person and online. All sales were subject to value-added tax.
