Dubai Police

Dubai Police have launched a scheme to ensure the welfare of children of female inmates in the emirate's prisons for the tenth consecutive year.

The "You Made Me Happy" initiative launched on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha is set up to provide female inmates and their children with essentials like clothing, food, drink, regular medical check-ups, reading and writing educational lessons.

The service is set up by the Child and Woman Protection Department of Dubai Police's General Department of Human Rights, in collaboration with the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Institutions.

Colonel Jamila Al Zaabi, Director of the Women's Prison said that the initiative aims to bring “happiness to the children of female inmates as well as showing our commitment to social responsibility and keenness to promote values of tolerance and love by bringing joy to children during Eid.”
