Dubai Metro stations get signage overhaul to ease navigation

Dubai Metro users can now enjoy a smoother commute, thanks to a major upgrade in station signage.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), in partnership with Keolis–MHI, has completed a comprehensive overhaul of wayfinding signs across all metro stations. The project involved installing and replacing around 9,000 signs over 11,000 work hours.

Hassan Al Mutawa, Director of Rail Operations at the RTA's Rail Agency, says the improvements include clearer entry and exit signs, new platform indicators, and floor stickers to guide passengers more efficiently.

Exit signs are now highlighted in bright yellow boxes for better visibility.

The update also features new signage for Women and Children Cabins and Gold Class areas, along with behavioural reminder stickers encouraging proper etiquette on public transport.

To ensure consistency, these changes have been integrated into the RTA’s smart apps, audio announcements and social media channels.
