Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) says its Smart Monitoring Centre has detected nearly 30,000 violations in the passenger transport sector in the first seven months of 2025.

Between January and July, the centre recorded more than 428,000 monitoring cases across taxi and luxury transport services, uncovering 29,886 breaches of laws and regulations.

Offences included 3,127 speeding violations, 4,251 instances of drivers using mobile phones and 652 seatbelt violations.

Saeed Al Balooshi, Director of Passenger Transport Activities Monitoring at the RTA’s Public Transport Agency, said the centre uses AI-powered systems to boost compliance and road safety.

He added that the RTA plans to expand smart monitoring to track driver behaviour in the future.
