COVID-19: UAE confirms 102 new cases, one death

One-hundred-and-two new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the UAE, bringing the total number to 570 cases.

According to the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP), the new patients were people who either came in contact with people who had coronavirus but failed to complete the 14-day quarantine period or, had returned from a trip abroad where they contracted the virus. 

The most recent death was that of a 47-year-old Arab woman who had a severe chronic illness.

This brings the total number of diagnosed cases in the UAE to 570, with 512 of those cases still active, 58 people have recovered and three have died.

The ministry has again urged people to avoid mixing in crowded places and to stay at home.
