Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has administered the COVID-19 vaccine to its entire fleet of eligible bus and taxi drivers.

The jabs were given to more than 20,000 drivers in coordination with the Dubai Health Authority (DHA).

The campaign is now targeting frontliners and employees of various agencies and sectors of the RTA.

Two internal vaccination centres have been set up - one for taxi and bus drivers, and another for vaccinating other employees.

Around 40,000 vaccination shots have been provided so far to various categories including drivers, front-end staff, metro and tram operators, parking inspectors and other RTA employees along with their family members.

The campaign also covers outsourced employees, school bus drivers, bike delivery riders and limo drivers.
