If you have come across reports of schools in Dubai being asked to close due to the COVID-19 outbreak, then that's just a rumour.

The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has urged parents not to fall for the fake news circulating online and through WhatsApp groups.

It has clarified that all announcements will be made on its official social media channels.

Nurseries across the UAE have suspended classes for two weeks as a precautionary measure, while all schools have been asked to cancel any large gatherings as well as sporting events and field trips.
