Starting Sunday, motorists who use the dedicated bus lane on Khalid bin Al Waleed St. will face a penalty of AED 600.
That’s according to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), which said 22 cameras have been positioned to monitor the lane.
The lane, which is exclusively dedicated for RTA buses and taxis, was inaugurated on January 12.
It's part of efforts by the authority to ensure smooth flow of bus traffic and to reduce the journey time for public transport users.
#RTA announces that offence tickets will be issued against misusing the dedicated bus lane recently opened at Khalid bin Al Waleed St. The offence system will be activated as of Sunday, Feb 7th, following the end of a grace period. https://t.co/6pqh6VIL3f pic.twitter.com/RsAnKC28YX
