Abu Dhabi has removed the minimum speed limit of 120kmph on Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Road (E311) in a bid to improve road safety and enhance traffic flow.
In a post on its official social media handle, Abu Dhabi Mobility explained that the move also aims to "support the smoother movement of heavy vehicles".
The maximum speed limit remains at 140kph and motorists are being urged to drive safely.

The minimum speed limit on E311 was introduced in May 2023. It had applied to the outer two lanes on the left, in both directions, with drivers dropping below the minimum speed on the designated lanes facing fines of Dh400.
