The Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi has unveiled a first-of-its-kind, AI-powered portal to monitor and report environmental issues at the COP30 climate summit in Brazil.
The Abu Dhabi State of Environment Portal (ADSOEP) will use AI to analyse data from sensors and research reports and predict key environmental indicators faster and more accurately.
It will "deliver clear, real-time environmental data that supports proactive decision-making and ensure the preservation of our natural heritage for future generations," highlighted Dr. Shaikha Salem Al Dhaheri, Secretary General of the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD).
Ahmed Baharoon, Executive Director of the Environmental Information, Science and Outreach Management Sector at EAD, explained that the portal will help in "transforming complex environmental data into precise insights".
The portal will automate data collection and use real-time data insights for intuitive and predictive analytics.
The State of the Environment Report for Abu Dhabi, published in February 2025, has served as a vital source of data with over 1,000 key performance indicators across four main domains: air, water resources, land and biodiversity, the agency added.
