1,444 UAE companies fined for faking Emiratisation

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has revealed 1,444 companies in the UAE have been fined for faking Emiratisation and breaching labour policies.

The figure, revealed to Al Bayan newspaper by MoHRE, relates to businesses between mid 2022 and June 10, 2024. 

It's estimated 21,000 companies have met the required Emiratisation targets, 

Faking Emiratisation is a breach of the UAE's labour policies and occurs when a company hires a citizen without giving them genuine duties to fulfill. 

The UAE has introduced penalties ranging from AED 20,000 to AED 100,000 for companies which break the rules.
