flydubai flights between Dubai and Colombo Airport (CMB), Sri Lanka, have been suspended from July 10 until further notice, a flydubai spokesperson has said.

In a statement, they said the airline will continue to closely monitor the situation on the ground in Sri Lanka.

Passengers who have booked to travel on these flights will be contacted and offered a refund.

The statement added the airline apologises for the inconvenience caused to their passengers’ travel schedules.

Dubai's Emirates and Abu Dhabi's Etihad Airways continue to operate their schedules to Sri Lanka, but are closely monitoring the situation in the island nation.

A spokesperson from Etihad said that some of its services from Colombo would stop at India's Cochin International Airport to refuel before continuing onwards to Abu Dhabi starting from July 14.
