UAE athlete Mohammed Al Musabbi has struck gold at an international youth meet held alongside the Diamond League in Monaco.

Competing in the 1000-metre youth category, Al Musabbi outpaced 21 runners from top European clubs to take first place.

He clocked a time of 2 minutes and 34.44 seconds, setting a new national record for the UAE in the youth category. The standout performance saw him finish ahead of strong contenders from Italy and France.

The UAE Athletics Federation hailed the win as a major milestone in the country’s sporting journey, crediting the achievement to ongoing efforts to nurture young talent, with direct backing from the Abu Dhabi Sports Council.
