F1 launches virtual Grand Prix series to replace postponed races

Formula One has launched a virtual racing series in place of the upcoming postponed races.

The virtual races - run on the official F1 2019 PC video game - will feature some current drivers.

The first race will be held on Sunday, when the Bahrain Grand Prix was scheduled to take place.

"Every subsequent race weekend will see the postponed real-world Formula One race replaced with a Virtual Grand Prix," Formula One said, adding that it will run until May.

Australian and Monaco grands prix have been cancelled with Bahrain, Vietnam, China, the Netherlands and Spain postponed.
