Abu Dhabi Police win 19 gold medals at Canada games

Abu Dhabi Police have won 19 gold medals in World Police and Fire Games in Canada. Over 8,500 athletes representing law enforcement, firefighters and police officers from around the world are competing at the ten-day event in Manitoba.

As total of 45 athletes are representing Abu Dhabi Police at the bi-annual Olympic-style competition, where competitors take part in over 60 sports.

Brigadier Essam Abdullah Al Ali, Director of the Police Sports Education Centre, announced the gold medal haul and said it marked spectacular sports achievements in international competitions.

The record attendance for the event was set in 2011 in New York where over 16,000 athletes competed from close to 70 countries.

The 2023 edition concludes on August 6.
