Hurricane Helene made landfall in Florida on Friday morning as a Category 4 storm, with maximum sustained winds of 225 kph (140 mph). It has since weakened, but remains “extremely dangerous,” according to US authorities.  At least three people have been killed and more than 1.5 million experience power and water cuts. Airports in Tampa, Tallahassee and St. Petersburg all suspended operations on Thursday.
