UAE sends condolences to Papua New Guinea landslide victims

The UAE has expressed its solidarity with Papua New Guinea over a landslide in which 670 people are believed to be buried.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the nation sends its sincere condolences and sympathy with the government and people of Papua New Guinea, and to the families of the victims, as well as its wishes for a speedy recovery for all the injured.

Over 150 homes are thought to be buried underneath the landslide, which happened in the isolated Enga province.

More than 250 homes in the nearby area have been evacuated.
