The UAE has sent an aid plane with seven metric tonnes of medical supplies to Romania in order to support the country’s efforts to curb the spread of COVID-19.

According to Dr Ahmed Abudllah Al Matrooshi, the UAE Ambassador to Romania, the supplies will assist approximately 7,000 healthcare workers as they work to combat the virus.

The aid delivery will also help ensure the safety of thousands of frontline workers as it includes personal protective equipment (PPE).

To date, the UAE has sent over 549 metric tons of aid to 48 countries and has supported more than 549,000 medical workers in the process.
