UAE President marks 49th anniversary of the Armed Forces unification

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan addressed members of the Armed Forces on the 49th anniversary of their unification, calling them "a shield" protecting the nation.

Sheikh Mohamed has affirmed that the unification of the UAE Armed Forces is an occasion cherished by the people of the UAE and represents a key chapter in the nation's journey.

He added that the tireless work of the Armed Forces on humanitarian missions, along with their steadfast support for people in need during crises and disasters, has earned them a reputation for compassion and solidarity both at home and abroad.

He emphasised that these humanitarian endeavours reflect the values instilled by the UAE's Founding Father and Rulers -- values that continue to shape coming generations.

Marking the historic day, Sheikh Mohamed also paid tribute to the UAE’s fallen heroes who gave their lives in service to the country.

“Their sacrifice keeps the spirit of our Union strong and serves as a lasting example of what it means to love and serve one’s country,” he said.
