UAE President congratulates Japan's Takaichi on historic win

UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has congratulated Japan's Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi after winning a critical parliamentary election.

In a post on social media, Sheikh Mohamed said the UAE is "committed towards expanding collaboration" with Japan, while highlighting the "strong growth" the two nations have witnessed with CEPA negotiations entering the final stages.

"The UAE is committed to expanding collaboration and promoting further development for the benefit of our peoples," His Highness added.

The conservative Takaichi, Japan's first female leader, delivered 316 seats of the 465 in parliament's lower house for her Liberal Democratic Party, its best ever result.
