UAE needs unified strategy to tackle violence against women and children

All seven emirates need to come up with a unified strategy to tackle violence against women and children. That’s according to officials in Dubai, who say more than 5,000 women suffered from domestic violence in the emirate in 2014. But they say official countrywide figures are needed to address the problem on a national scale. Aisha Al Midfa is a programme and research officer at the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children.
