UAE, Lebanese Presidents reiterate commitment to boosting ties

WAM

UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his Lebanese counterpart Joseph Aoun have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen bilateral ties during a phone call.

The leaders discussed the fraternal relations between their countries and various aspects of cooperation, national news agency Wam reported.

They also addressed a number of regional and international issues of common concern, including developments in the Middle East, and underscored the importance of advancing efforts to promote peace.

In early May, both leaders agreed to enhance cooperation in key sectors, including economic and investment, "through joint opportunities, knowledge exchange and government development". It was during Aoun's first official visit to the UAE since taking office.

The two sides had agreed to allow travel for citizens by implementing necessary procedures and mechanisms to ease movement between the two countries.
