The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the UAE and Iran have concluded the second session of political consultations in Tehran.

Co-chaired by UAE Minister of State Lana Nusseibeh and Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran Majid Takht Ravanchi, the meeting reviewed a number of foreign policies, national news agency Wam reported.

At the end of talks, the two sides agreed to activate joint technical committees to accelerate the implementation of existing agreements and explore new avenues for cooperation.

They also discussed bilateral ties and ways to advance shared interests for the benefit of both nations and their people.

Nusseibeh also discussed "issues affecting regional peace and security" during talks with Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs Abbas Araghchi.
