"Reaching the Last Mile", a global health initiative led by UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has pledged AED 55 million to the Global Institute for Disease Elimination (GLIDE).

The pledge came during the 11th edition of the Annual Global Conference which is taking place in Abu Dhabi.

It marks the initiative's second contribution since GLIDE's inception in 2019 and reaffirms commitments to combating preventable infectious diseases and accelerating progress towards their elimination.

GLIDE, established by the UAE President, focuses on eradicating diseases like malaria, polio, lymphatic filariasis, and river blindness, with over 45 programs spanning 30 countries.
