A Lebanese professor at Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah University of Science & Technology (KAUST) has been named the winner of the UAE's 'Great Arab Minds Award' in the field of natural science.

Niveen Khashab has been honoured for her contributions to the development and application of nanomaterials in the healthcare, pharmaceutical, industrial and environmental sectors.

Khashab, who is a Chemistry Professor and the Associate Dean of Physical Sciences and Engineering Division at KAUST, has over 275 scientific research papers and publications in organic chemistry and nanotechnology.
