UAE gifts memorial monument to Kuwait

WAM

The UAE government has announced it will present a memorial monument to the people of Kuwait, to be installed at Al Shaheed Park in Kuwait City.

The monument is intended as a lasting symbol of the shared history and common destiny of the two nations, reflecting efforts to strengthen institutional and social ties.

The landmark will be designed by young Emirati designer Omar Al Gurg, who is known for combining contemporary design with traditional Arab heritage.

Al Shaheed Park was chosen for its national significance and its role in commemorating Kuwait’s history. The park is already home to prominent landmarks, including the Martyr Monument and the Constitution Monument.

The UAE-gifted installation will be placed in a highly visible location to ensure strong engagement from visitors, reinforcing the park’s status as a centre for regional heritage and solidarity.

The announcement comes as part of a wider initiative directed by the UAE leadership, including a week-long celebration across the seven emirates under the theme 'UAE and Kuwait: Brothers Forever', marking the enduring bonds between the two countries.
