UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has spoken by phone with Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, who expressed gratitude for the UAE’s humanitarian support to communities affected by recent floods.
During the call, Sheikh Mohamed offered condolences to the Sri Lankan people for the lives lost and wished the country strength and resilience.
The UAE’s rapid response included emergency relief operations through the Joint Operations Command, the UAE Agency for International Aid and the Emirates Red Crescent.
Teams from Abu Dhabi Civil Defence carried out search and rescue missions in the hardest-hit areas, while urgent supplies such as food and shelter materials were delivered to displaced families.
