Students and technology enthusiasts are being given an opportunity to develop and test software code on a satellite in space.

This initiative is made possible with the launch of an earth station for educational satellites called "Code in Space Satellite Ground Station".

Access to a live satellite’s onboard computer will provide students with the opportunity to interact with satellites orbiting Earth and learn the operational basics.

The ground station is located in the Dubai Technology Entrepreneur Campus.

The centre was inaugurated on Tuesday by the Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA) in partnership with Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center (MBRSC) and Orbital Space.
