His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has approved the employment of 1,000 Emirati men and women in government jobs across the emirate, targeting newly graduated degree holders.

This brings the total number of job opportunities announced under Sharjah’s 2026 budget to 2,000 positions, supporting the emirate’s Emiratisation programmes.

The Ruler of Sharjah also approved the 2026 plan for the Sharjah Programme for Training and Qualifying Job Seekers, which will benefit 1,200 Emiratis with a budget of AED 60 million.

The programme includes professional training and a monthly allowance of AED 6,000 per participant, in support of both existing and new job-seeker applications.

Sheikh Sultan also directed the Sharjah Department of Human Resources to begin organising job interviews starting next week throughout the emirate.

The announcement was made by Abdullah Ibrahim Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Sharjah Department of Human Resources, during the programme 'Direct Line' on Sharjah Radio and Television.

Al Zaabi added that a practical training programme will begin in early February 2026, focusing on professional and technical fields such as engineering, accounting, information technology and programming.

Participants will be trained and then appointed directly to government entities based on their qualifications.

The programme will be implemented in coordination with several government departments and municipalities across Sharjah.

In addition, the Ruler of Sharjah approved 393 scholarships for Emirati students and the children of Emirati women, covering undergraduate and postgraduate studies at several institutions, including the American University of Sharjah, the University of Khorfakkan, the University of Kalba, the University of Al Dhaid, and the Sharjah Maritime Academy.
