Rise in number of blood donors in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi has witnessed a 165 per cent increase in the number of blood donors.

According to a report by the Statistics Centre in the capital, the number went up from 21,834 in 2008 to 57,900 in 2018. 

It revealed that the number of hospitals in the emirate increased to 61 two years ago, with 68.9 per cent belonging to the private sector. 

Statistics have also shown that the number of doctors increased by 3.3, reaching around 9,800 practicing medicine in the capital.
