Passengers flying from India to Dubai will no longer need to undergo the rapid PCR tests at the airport six hours before takeoff.
According to the latest guidelines that come into effect today, February 22, passengers will only need to present a negative PCR test with a 48-hour validity from an approved health service provider and undergo a PCR test upon arrival in Dubai.
In an update on their official website, FlyDubai confirmed the change in COVID requirements.
It explained that passengers from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are exempt from undergoing a rapid PCR test at the departure airport six hours prior to flying.
In a statement to ARN News, a spokesperson from the airline said the decision "follows the guidelines issued by the relevant authorities" and urged passengers to check their official website for all the latest updates.
Meanwhile, Indian carrier SpiceJet also confirmed the revised guideline.
"Please note, for travel to Dubai, the rapid RT-PCR testing at origin airport is no longer required effective 0800 hrs 22nd Feb'22."
