Restaurants in Dubai are not required to block visible dining areas during the month of Ramadan.

The Department of Economic Development (Dubai Economy) has issued a circular stating that the outlets can serve customers without putting in place curtains or dividers as has been the practice previously.

It has also confirmed that restaurants are not required to obtain a permit for serving food to customers during fasting hours.

The latest directive will come into effect from the first day of the holy month.
