Rain and dusty winds forecast across parts of UAE

WAM

The National Centre of Meteorology has forecast relatively unstable weather across the UAE until March 15, with a chance of rainfall over some areas, particularly western and coastal regions.

Active winds are also expected, raising dust and sand and bringing a gradual drop in temperatures before conditions stabilise later in the week with a slight rise in temperatures.

The Centre says Wednesday will be partly cloudy to cloudy and dusty at times, with chances of rain in some western and coastal areas.

Northeasterly winds may become fresh to strong, reaching up to 50 kilometres per hour, causing blowing dust and rough seas in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea before easing later in the day.

On Thursday, humid conditions are expected in the morning with a chance of light fog in some internal areas, while skies remain partly cloudy to cloudy with scattered rainfall possible. Winds will be light to moderate, occasionally fresh, with blowing dust.

By Friday, humid conditions will continue with a chance of light fog in some western areas early in the day.

Skies will be partly cloudy to cloudy with the possibility of light rain in some western, coastal and island areas, while temperatures begin to rise slightly.

The weather is expected to become more stable over the weekend, with fair to partly cloudy skies on Saturday and Sunday, along with humid mornings and a chance of fog or mist in some coastal areas.

Winds will remain light to moderate and seas slight in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
