The UAE's maritime heritage is being showcased at a brand new festival, which is taking place in Abu Dhabi.

The inaugural edition of the Abu Dhabi Maritime Heritage Festival aims to celebrate and preserve vital elements of the country's coastal heritage as well as promote sustainable fishing practices and marine conservation efforts.

His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office, inaugurated the event, taking place at Al Bahar on Abu Dhabi’s Corniche from March 18-27.

Visitors can experience workshops, performances, craft demonstrations, and heritage trails, as well as immersive stories of yesteryear as told by heritage experts, who will share their stories and deep knowledge.

A traditional souq, with a wide selection of F&B vendors, is also a key feature of the festival.

Entry tickets cost AED 30 for adults and AED 15 for children aged 5-12.

Opening hours will be 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm daily.
