Major makeover ahead for five Dubai marine stations

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched the second phase of its project to upgrade waiting areas at key marine transport stations across the city.

The five stations included in this phase are Al Fahidi, Baniyas, Al Seef, Sheikh Zayed Road and Bluewaters.

The goal is to enhance passenger comfort and accessibility, with advanced air-conditioning, dedicated areas for people of determination, and architectural designs inspired by Dubai’s traditional wooden abras.

These improvements reflect the emirate’s rich maritime heritage while embracing its urban future.

The stations will also feature state-of-the-art safety systems, including surveillance cameras and fire alarms, and are designed in line with the Dubai Universal Design Code, ensuring inclusivity and ease of access for all.

Khalaf Belghuzooz Al Zarooni, Director of Marine Transport at the RTA's Public Transport Agency, says the initiative supports Dubai’s vision of delivering world-class public transport services, improving connectivity between major landmarks, and integrating marine stations with other transport modes like buses, metro and trams.
