Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the completion of a major package of infrastructure projects in Al Quoz Creative Zone, aimed at improving connectivity and strengthening transport integration across the area.

The projects are part of a wider master plan to develop Al Quoz into a global creative hub, supporting artists, designers and entrepreneurs, while offering affordable live-work spaces and a fully integrated ecosystem spanning design, production, exhibition and marketing.

Among the completed works is a new pedestrian and cycling bridge on Al Manara Street, designed to improve safety and ease movement within the district and surrounding areas.

The bridge also reflects the creative zone’s distinctive urban identity.

The RTA has also delivered three new mobility hubs, along with pedestrian and cycling tracks and individual mobility routes extending four kilometres.

These link Al Quoz Creative Zone with Onpassive Metro Station and Al Quoz Bus Station, supporting seamless, multi-modal travel.

Preparations have also been completed for the ‘Super Blocks’ project, which allows selected streets to be temporarily closed and transformed into pedestrian-only spaces for cultural events and festivals. One of these is the Al Quoz Arts Festival, taking place from January 24-25.

The initiative supports Dubai’s long-term urban strategies, including the Dubai Urban Plan 2040 and the 20-Minute City concept, encouraging walking, soft mobility and greener urban living.

The RTA’s Director General Mattar Al Tayer said the projects reflect the authority’s commitment to people-centric mobility solutions that reduce reliance on private vehicles and enhance quality of life for residents, visitors and businesses.

Once fully developed, Al Quoz Creative Zone is expected to grow from 900 creatives to around 20,000, accommodate 8,000 residents, and attract more than 30,000 visitors a day — positioning it among the largest creative districts of its kind globally.
