Jebel Jais temporarily closes after recent unstable weather conditions

Jebel Jais has temporarily closed all operations and facilities during its peak season to carry out safety assessments and maintenance following the unstable weather conditions that recently affected the UAE.

Located in Ras Al Khaimah, the mountainous destination has closed down surrounding roads, with essential maintenance work currently in place, according to authorities.

Activities in the area have also been suspended until further notice, including the Jais Flight Zipline, Bear Grylls Explorers Camp, the Via Ferrata route, and Yoga activities at Jais Viewing Deck Park.

Restaurants, including 1484 by Puro and Red Rock BBQ, will also be closed until the repair has been completed.

Hiking and climbing areas are still open, but are currently being assessed by specialised teams to ensure its conditions, with hikers and climbers urged to exercise caution and avoid affected routes.

Visitors have also been advised not to camp in the wadis during this period, and to take precautions due to shifting rocks and slippery paths following the accumulation of standing water in certain areas.

The reopening of Jebel Jais will follow a phased approach after each area has been carefully examined and enhanced.

Guests have been encouraged to stay up to date via official Jebel Jais channels as maintenance progresses and areas reopen gradually.
