It's a pet cat, not a black panther; Dubai Police clarifies

Dubai Police have confirmed that the "wild animal" spotted in the Springs residential area was a pet cat.

It comes after an intensive two-day search was carried out by the authority after a video of the "sighting" went viral.

Dubai Police clarified that the conclusion was based on examinations of the area by animal experts, and a detailed analysis of the video.

They also reassured the community that measures are in place to ensure safety of the residents, and urged the public to exercise caution while sharing information on social media.
