Motorists in central Sharjah whose cars have been impounded for traffic violations can now keep their vehicles at home.
Police say residents don’t have to keep their cars in police-designated yards during the impoundment period if they don't want to.
A small tracking device will be installed inside the car which alerts authorities if the vehicle has been moved.
The initiative is part of Sharjah's efforts to use technology in a bid to improve the quality of services that are offered to the public.
