H.H. Sheikh Hamdan attends Azerbaijan's Victory Day celebrations

On behalf of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, has attended Azerbaijan’s Victory Day celebrations in Baku.

Sheikh Hamdan, who also holds the positions of the UAE's Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister, took to social media to mark the event.

He conveyed the UAE leaders' greetings to President Ilham Aliyev and expressed happiness at he progress of UAE–Azerbaijan relations, which he described as "expanding rapidly across multiple sectors".

He said it reflected "both countries’ commitment to building strong international partnerships that foster development, stability, and prosperity".

Sheikh Hamdan was welcomed by Emin Amrullayev, Minister of Science and Education of Azerbaijan, upon landing at Heydar Aliyev International Airport.

Sheikh Hamdan is leading a high-level delegation at the celebrations, which will be attended by a number of world leaders and heads of states, national news agency Wam reported. 

Victory Day is marked on November 8 every year to commemorate Azerbaijan’s victory in the 44-day Second Karabakh War in 2020 against Armenia, allowing it to regain control over territories that were occupied since the early 1990s.
