H.H. Sheikh Abdullah discusses regional developments with global counterparts

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, has held phone calls with several foreign ministers and officials to discuss the latest developments and the repercussions of Iranian missile attacks targeting the UAE and other countries.

According to officials, the discussions focused on the security implications of the attacks and their potential impact on regional stability, as well as on the global economy and energy security.

Sheikh Abdullah spoke with Dr Mohamed Irfaan Ali, President of Guyana; Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan; Antonio Tajani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy; Ignazio Cassis, Vice President of the Swiss Confederation and Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs; Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France; Winston Peters, Minister of Foreign Affairs of New Zealand; and Jeyhun Bayramov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.

During the calls, the officials discussed the importance of strengthening international coordination and increasing joint efforts to maintain stability in the region.

Sheikh Abdullah and the ministers strongly condemned the missile attacks, describing them as a violation of international law and the United Nations Charter and a threat to the sovereignty and security of states.

They also stressed that countries targeted by such attacks have the right to take necessary measures to protect their sovereignty, territorial integrity and the safety of their citizens and residents in accordance with international law.

The leaders emphasised the need for stronger collective international action and renewed diplomatic engagement to address rising tensions and reinforce regional security.

Sheikh Abdullah thanked the ministers for their expressions of solidarity and support for the UAE, adding that all residents and visitors in the country remain safe. He also reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to working with international partners to support stability and development in the region.
