Emirates cancels flights due to adverse weather conditions

Emirates Airlines has announced the cancellation of several flights operating at Dubai Airport on Friday due to adverse weather conditions, warning travellers of additional delays.

In an update on their official website, the airline listed out the flights that have been cancelled for Friday, December 19:

- EK977/978 Dubai/Tehran/Dubai

- EK823/824 Dubai/Dammam/Dubai

- EK945/946 Dubai/Basra/Dubai

- EK866/867 Dubai/Muscat/Dubai

- EK853/854 Dubai/Kuwait/Dubai

- EK835/836 Dubai/Bahrain/Dubai

- EK837/838 Dubai/Bahrain/Dubai

- EK705/796 Dubai/Seycelles/Dubai

- EK656/657 Dubai/Male/Dubai

-EK650/651 Dubai/Colombo/Dubai

-EK636/637 Dubai/Peshawar/Dubai

- EK043/44 Dubai/Frankfurt/Dubai

- EK322/323 Dubai/Incheon/Dubai

The airline has stated that the unstable weather conditions in the UAE and nearby regions have impacted its operations on December 18 and 19, with "some flights being cancelled, delayed and retimed".

Travellers have been advised to check for flight updates before heading to the airport.

The airline apologised for any inconvenience caused, with the decisions being made to prioritise the safety of the passengers and crew. 

Passengers heading to Dubai International Airport have been advised to arrive four hours before departure, check in online, expect road delays, and to use the Dubai Metro, where possible.
