Dubai Police reunite missing child with family

Police in Dubai have once again called on parents to keep a close watch on their children, especially in public places.

The reminder comes after a four-year-old boy was found wandering alone in the Uptown Mirdiff area.

A passerby, who spotted the child trying to cross Algeria Street, took him to the police station.

"The child was scared and crying and asking to see his mother, so we provided toys to calm him until his family was found," said Lt. Colonel Aref Ali Muhammad, Deputy Director of the Crime Prevention Department at Dubai Police.

It was only 45 minutes later that the police received a missing report.

The child was later handed over to the mother after verifying her identity and other details.
