Dubai Municipality confirmed its readiness to deal with emergencies during unstable weather conditions with a proactive plan and rapid response mechanisms.

The authority said it handled 279 emergency reports during the rainy weather on Thursday through its field teams consisting of 484 specialised engineers and technicians and 1,150 assisting workers.

It highlighted the preparedness of its teams to quickly address reports of weather-related damage and the measures put in place for sewage management and dealing with rainwater pools and clogged drains.

The municipal rainfall contingency teams are equipped with 15 equipment for line cleaning and unclogging, seven trucks with a crane, 49 tanks for water transportation, 87 carriage pumps, 74 portable pumps, 63 transport vehicles of different types, over 60 pickups, pumping and processing mechanisms for water accumulation, sand and various waste types, as well as 31 vehicles.

The Municipality added that people can report issues related to adverse weather conditions through the Dubai 24/7 app or by calling the hotline 800900.

It also advised the public not to connect rainwater drainage pipes in homes with the sewage system, as they cause a burden on the network.
