Dubai's taxi sector continues to witness a robust growth rate.
According to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), as many as 27.3 million trips were recorded during the first quarter of this year.
That's a six per cent increase compared to the same period in 2022, and a growth of five per cent compared to Q1 2019.
A total of 26 million taxi trips were logged in 2022, 19.2 million trips were registered in 2021, 23.3 million in 2020 and 26.1 million trips in 2019.
"This sector experienced an unprecedented surge, marking its highest growth in recent years, particularly e-hail services, smart rental services, and Hala Taxi service," said Adel Shakri, Director of Planning and Business Development at the RTA's Public Transport Agency.
"The analysis of figures and ratios of the sector during the first quarter of 2023 reflects the thriving economy of Dubai, which cemented its standing as a prominent global hub for investment and tourism," he added.
The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has approved a 2.35 per cent Education Cost Index (ECI) for Dubai's for-profit private schools for the 2025–26 academic year, allowing eligible schools to increase tuition fees within that limit.
